Quick steps to apply for government subsidies for Hong Kong recruitment agencies

January 27, 2023

The surge of COVID-19 has affected the global economy and Hong Kong’s recruitment market has been hit deeply. As part of the business relief program, the Labour Department of Hong Kong has recently announced a one-time subsidy for all Employment Agencies registered in Hong Kong.

Is my agency eligible?

To be eligible, the agency must meet the following requirements:
1. The EA licence must be valid for at least 2 months on the date of submission
2. If the licence is due for renewal within 2 months, the agency must apply for renewal before applying for the subsidy

How much can I expect?

Agencies that provide placement services for Foreign Domestic Helpers (“FDH”) can apply for a HKD 50,000 subsidy. Proof of such placements done before March 30th, 2020 will be required at the time of submission.

Other agencies can apply for a HKD 30,000 subsidy and HKD 10,000 for any duplicate licences held (for other branches’ operations).

How do I apply?

You will need to fill out an application form and submit via mail or in person at the Labour Department’s office located at Unit 906, 9/F, One Mong Kok Road, Commercial Centre, 1 Mong Kok Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

The application form will be sent to you via mail or email by the Department directly. To expedite the process, you can also obtain the form via this link.

THE DEADLINE TO APPLY IS ON JULY 21ST, 2020. TO AVOID BEING MISSED, WE SUGGEST TO APPLY WELL BEFORE THE DEADLINE!
